30 Guided Meditations for Sleep and Insomnia (Deep Relaxation) 2020

Do you struggle getting good nights sleep? Do you lay your head on your pillow hoping to drift off peacefully, only to find yourself tossing and turning? Sleeping well shouldn’t be a struggle. If you suffer from sleep problems there’s something that can support you. A guided meditation for sleep and insomnia can help to quiet your mind and deeply relax your body, so you can actually go to and stay asleep all night long.

It seems as sleep problems are an epidemic these days. In fact in a study conducted by Wakefield Research, found a whopping 51% Of adults worldwide don’t get enough sleep. In america alone the numbers are clear as well. With 50 to 70 million people suffering from one (or several) sleep disorders, with around 30% suffering from Insomnia. (1)

I too have suffered from sleep related issues, like a restless night paired with a dash of nightly reoccurring insomnia.  It started after the birth of my first (and only) child. Then got worse after my divorce and the stresses of being a working single mom.

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to my health and wellbeing, I personally I prefer to use a more natural approach. And I tried it all, from over the counter sleep aids, to more natural aids such as melatonin.

Nothing worked as I had hoped (hello melatonin hangover). I would get an uneasy nights rest, and wake up the next day feeling stressed, lethargic and lacking motivation. Can you relate?

Then I tried listening to a guided meditation for sleep. It changed everything for me. Finally I was able to get a good nights rest. I also would fall asleep and stay asleep. Now, when I wake up in the morning, I feel well rested . And have all the energy I need to be a mom, work and have a productive day.

How Prepare For Your Guided Sleep Meditation

First, before you start your meditation, find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. For going to sleep the bedroom is the perfect place.

Secondly, decide on a comfortable position to sit or lay down. You can lay in your bed, or sit up and place a pillow behind your back to support you.

Third, if you prefer to listen to your meditation while wearing headphones, put them on.  For sleep, these headphones come highly recommended and are available on Amazon here.

Finally, when you are ready to begin, hit play and allow yourself to let go and ease into your session.

20 Personal & Work Goals to Set for 2020

I was taken by surprise recently when I mentioned SMART goals in a meeting at work and several people didn’t know what I was talking about.

I thought that SMART goals had become somewhat of a buzzword in the professional arena, and certainly something that everyone was at least kind of familiar with. After implementing SMART goals into my own life, I have to wonder how people who don’t practice this know when they have reached their goal?

And then it occurred to me why new year’s resolutions are so often abandoned by February 1st (in fact, research shows that 80% of new year’s resolutions are forgotten by February 15th).  If you google: top five new year’s resolutions, you will find:

  1. Diet or eat healthier
  2. Exercise more
  3. Lose weight
  4. Save more money
  5. Learn a new skill

The problem with these goals is that not one of them is specific, which leaves you a lot of gray area to play around in (“I’ll splurge tonight on this ice cream sundae and start fresh tomorrow”, “I’ll just buy this one new electronic”).

They’re not measurable (Exercise how much more? One day per week? Twice a month?).

They’re not actionable (What steps will you take to lose weight? Are you going to sign up for a class to learn your new skill?).

They’re not realistic, simply because they’re so vague.

And finally, they’re not timely because there is no deadline to any of them.

So, you’ve lost one pound by January 20th. Does that mean you met your goal? You ate salads for a week. Was that the end of your diet?

Surely you see where I’m going with this. If you’re going to set goals in the new year, it is imperative to make them SMART goals in order to see the results that you’re looking for. Whatever your aspirations are, setting effective goals can help you get there.

Alternatively, having a poorly constructed goal can put an end to your motivation and make you feel defeated that you’re not getting anywhere. When you set an unreasonable goal, it’s easy to throw in the towel when you don’t see results. The key to success is to make a plan and stick to it by creating SMART goals. (A good goal setting and tracking app can help you with this.)

In this article, I will talk a little about the goal setting process, then I will uncover the 7 areas of your life where you can set goals. Finally, I will give you 20 examples yearly goals that can help boost your personal development and improve your life.

Let’s start by reviewing how to set SMART goals.

How to Set Yearly SMART Goals

The first thing you need to do is to identify your goal, believe you can achieve it, and write it down. Writing down your goal will keep you accountable and studies in neuroscience have found you will be up to 1.4 times more likely to achieve your goal if you write it down.

When writing your goal down, use a SMART goal worksheet to help guide you through the process of ensuring that your goal will work by using language that is specific and achievable.

Start with an action verb to describe what you plan to do. Then specifically state what actions you will take.

For example, Participate in two networking events per month–but then you have to add in your why:

Participate in two networking events per month to make six new contacts in my industry by April 1st, 2020.

This goal leaves no questions about what you’re going to do to achieve your goal, how often you’re going to do it, and when you will know if you have been successful.

Once you meet your goal date, whether you achieved your goal or not, you will want to assess the goal itself. Was it too far fetched? Too easy? Reevaluate the goal and tweak it in a way that will allow you to start fresh and be more successful with your newly gained insight and perspective. The more experience you gain setting SMART goals, the better you will become at doing it.

Let’s look at some areas of your life that it would be beneficial to set SMART goals.

7 Areas of Your Life for Setting Important Goals

Career Goals

You career is one of the major components of your life that will determine whether or not you feel fulfilled at the end of the day. Because of this, it is critical to make career goals that will allow you to feel successful and spend your days doing something that you’re passionate about.

Do you have a clear vision of what you want?

Start by determining your long-term career aspirations and the short-term tasks you need to do in order to achieve them. This will make up your career plan, but because your career will be a life-long journey, you will need to reevaluate your goals as necessary as time goes by.

Finance Goals

You need to set financial goals in order to become financially secure. Without having these goals, you are putting yourself at risk of spending frivolously and wasting money, which can lead to hardships if you face unexpected expenses or are ready to retire.

Reevaluating your financial goals every year and updating them as needed will allow you to track your progress and stay financially secure, which can reduce the stress that comes along with life’s unavoidable expenses.

Health Goals

Having health goals will help you live a long, enjoyable life. Evaluate your current state of health in all areas, including your diet, fitness, life balance, family health history, etc. and identify the areas that could use some improvement or attention. What are your current health statistics? Do you have any bad habits right now that could be further increasing your chances of developing a hereditary disease? Create goals to modify your lifestyle as needed to optimize your health.

Leisure Goals

When you think of your leisure time, you may automatically jump to the idea of having a free pass to sit around while doing nothing. However, your leisure time is a great opportunity to work on your personal development.

Identify some things you would like to learn. Your leisure time can be spent productively when you use it to gain new skills that will challenge you in some way. Having hobbies is a great way to reduce stress, explore your talents, and even bring in some extra income. So making goals in this arena is an important way to make the best use of your time in life.

Organizing Goals

You can’t be your most productive if you’re working or living in a chaotic environment. Set goals and expectations for yourself that you can realistically meet that will help you make your time and space more efficient.

Staying organized will help reduce the amount of stress in your life. By keeping up with your organizational goals, you can spend your time and energy focusing on the tasks that are truly important.

Relationship Goals

It’s hard work to maintain healthy relationships. When you’re in a relationship, your goals should be mutually agreed upon with your partner.  However, if you’re not currently in a relationship, the relationship that you should work on is the one with yourself. Until you’re happy with the person that you are, you may not be in a position to be the kind of partner that you want to be for someone else.

Spirituality Goals

Your spirituality goals will help you work toward a better life on your journey toward self-actualization. Setting goals in this domain will help you live in line with your values, which means that these goals will be highly individualized in nature. To start setting these goals, explore your beliefs and consider the big questions that you want answered, such as what is your why? Do some self-reflection and meditation to try to set yourself in the right direction in making these goals. There are also some tools and podcasts out there to help you explore your spirituality.

Keep in mind that your SMART goals should be so specific that you can’t really read someone else’s example of one and apply it directly to your life. You have your own unique career, health and financial needs, relationships, etc.–so your SMART goals will not be identical to anyone else’s. However, we can look at some examples of goals that you can set in the new year and tailor into SMART goals for your unique situation in these seven areas of your life to improve your wellbeing.

20 Examples of Goals to Set for 2020 to Improve Your Life

1. Take a 30 minute walk during your lunch break three times per week.

Having a 30 minute walk during your lunch break can help you lose weight and give your mind a refreshing break.

If your goal is to improve your physical health and reduce stress, it could be beneficial to you to step away from your (possibly sedentary) job and get some fresh air and sunlight.

Walking during your lunch break can help you lose weight when coupled with other healthy habits, give your mind a refreshing break, and allow you to change your environment and return to work in the afternoon feeling better prepared to conquer the second half of your day.

2. Reach out to a distant family member once a month.

As families grow up and move away from each other, it is easy to lose touch and only talk on holidays and birthdays. Break this expectation by calling cousins, aunts, and uncles to just catch up throughout the year. This will help you maintain those connections–especially with the modern technology that allows us to keep in touch with loved ones around the world,

When you contact a family member, ask about their lives and share details about yours. Allowing other people to feel connected to you will help you sustain relationships with those who are going to be connected with you in some way for the rest of your life.

3. Purge one room in your house each month until you’ve finished the entire house.

And don’t necessarily stop there. Get rid of the things you don’t need or use anymore and organize the things that you do need. Once you’re able to declutter your living space, you will feel a weight lifted off of your shoulders. Also, you will spend less time looking for things among your accumulated belongings. Sell, donate, or throw away your unwanted items.

4. Practice active listening in your meetings at work to improve your relationships with co-workers.

Active listening is an interpersonal communication skill that will allow people to feel closer to you because they will notice that you’re taking an interest in what they say. Helping people feel heard is one of the best ways of developing a trusting relationship and connection with them.

This will also help you prevent conflicts with co-workers because it will help you develop empathy for them and learn how to take on another person’s point of view.

5. Take 20 minutes once a week to reflect on your successes or achievements for that week.

Part of this is remembering to celebrate the small wins, but another part of it is to consciously recognize what you’re doing things right. So often, we focus on the things we do wrong and dwell on our mistakes, but if you counter that with some time each week to realize everything that you did well, it can help negate some of that self-talk.

6. Learn a new skill or hobby by the end of March.

Maybe you won’t be able to master the skill, but you can certainly get a good start in three months. What is something that you’ve always been interested in but have never pursued? Set a date to get involved with this activity and stick to it. You can learn to master any skill that you put your mind to.

7. Make vegetables half of your dinner every night.

This is a very specific goal that can help overhaul your physical health. Start replacing some of the junk food that you tend to eat for dinner (mashed potatoes, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese) with whole foods that your body can use for clean energy. This is a goal that can easily be turned into a habit that will benefit you greatly for the rest of your life.

8. Meditate for 10 minutes per day.

Meditation has a lot of health benefits, from improving your immune system to increasing your ability to focus. Learn how to observe your thoughts without passing judgment on them. This will help reduce your anxiety and increase your resilience to stress.

Meditation can help you find your inner peace and discover your ultimate purpose in life as you shut out all of the external factors going on and concentrate only on your mind-body connection.

Meditation has a lot of health benefits, from improving your immune system to increasing your ability to focus.

You can also do some meditative journaling to help you do self-reflection. Meditation can look like a lot of different things, as long as you’re taking the time to pay attention to your body and your surroundings.

9. Leave your phone somewhere else when you’re with someone.

Whether you’re on a day trip with your immediate family or you’re out having coffee with a friend, put your phone away and give all of your attention to the people (and the moment) at hand.

Disconnecting yourself from technology when you’re in the presence of others will help you nourish the relationships that are truly meaningful in your life at the end of the day. If you haven’t already, you will eventually discover that you miss more when you ignore those around you than when you ignore your phone.

10. Build an emergency fund with 6 months’ worth of expenses.

If you’ve already done this, double it. You can really never have too much money in your emergency fund, as no one truly knows what the future holds.

Know what your expenses are and how much it would cost for you to maintain your current quality of life if you lost your income. Prepare for that as if it is imminent. It is much better to be ready if that situation presents itself than to be left panicking because you can’t pay your bills.

11. Read one new book every month.

Live the life of a continuous learner by reading a new book every month. Whether it is fiction or nonfiction, not only will reading help expand your level of knowledge, it will also keep your vocabulary sharp, improve your writing skills, and make you a better problem solver.

Find the topics that interest you the most and pick up books that relate to them. Chances are, you won’t want to put down a book that is talking about something you’re passionate about.

12. Write in a gratitude journal every night.

Reflect on the things you’re thankful for in your life. Doing so will help you live a happier life and feel more content with your current circumstances. Your gratitude journal entries don’t have to be long–they can simply be bullet lists of the things that you’re especially thankful for in the moment. Even if this is one very small thing, maintaining a gratitude journal will improve your mental health.

13. Travel somewhere new this year.

Expand your horizons by travelling somewhere you’ve never been before, Bonus points if you travel alone so you can do exactly what you want to do, see what you want to see, and learn what you want to learn. This will help you gain independence and discover an appreciation for how other people live in this world.

It is important to get out of your daily routine every now and then to gain some perspective and get a reminder that the world isn’t as small as you probably imagine on an everyday basis.

14. Start meal planning.

Meal planning can help you in the organizational arena of your life as well as the health domain. Plan your meals ahead of time each week to save yourself time after work and eliminate the dreaded question of “What’s for dinner?”

Meal planning can make a big difference in sticking to a healthy diet, it can also save you a lot of time.

There are a lot of good resources to help teach you how to meal plan and there are some tools and apps that can help save you time and make it easy. While frontloading the work at the end of the weekend may seem cumbersome, you will be thanking yourself for the rest of the week by adopting this habit.

15. Ask for a raise at work by May 31st.

You will likely have some sort of performance review in the next six months. Prior to this, make a list of everything of value that you’re adding to the organization. Document your successes between now and your next performance review so you can go into it with a strong argument as to why you deserve it.

While your boss likely knows that you do a good job, they probably aren’t paying attention to the ins and outs of what you do every day, and they may not realize the extent to which you’re working to be successful. Take the time during your review to brag about yourself and be upfront about asking for more money.

16. Take time for your spouse or partner every day.

Maybe you meet for a quick lunch mid-day or you’re able to sit down and talk at the end of the night. Reconnecting with your partner is so important is maintaining that good relationship, staying involved in each other’s lives, and sharing any problems that one of you is facing. Relationships take continuous work to be successful, so take the time to nourish yours every day in some sort of way.

17. Create a work/life balance.

You want to be able to fit your career into your life, not fit your life into your career. So many sources have cited that one of the top five wishes of people who are near death is that they wish they had not worked as hard during their life and had instead spent that time with their family. If you have a choice to not stay late at work so you can eat dinner with your family, take those opportunities to do so. You should work to live, not live to work.

18. Complete a 30-day challenge.

30-day challenges are great because there is always an end in sight and you get to try out a new habit for a month to see if it ends up working for you. If it does, you can continue the habit and make it a part of your everyday routine.  30 day challenges can trick your mind into forming a new habit by making it seem almost like a game at first, but then realizing all of the benefits you’re gaining from it.

There are many types of 30-day challenges to try. Check out this post for 129 ideas for 30 day challenges.

19. Join a club.

Consider your interests or hobbies and find a local club or organization where like-minded people come together to engage in that activity. This will help you develop more relationships in your area with people who share your interests. Clubs are a great way to make new friends and have some more fun during your leisure time.

20. Sign up for a 5k (or 10k, half-marathon, or marathon).

Signing up is the first step to starting your training. You can’t avoid becoming physically fit when you’re trying to get ready for a big race such as one of these. Also, when you’re out running, you can take some time off to free your mind, have some fun, and enjoy the alone time. Choose a race depending upon your current level of fitness and if you have run a few of these before, make a goal of setting a personal record.

To achieve your dreams, you have to deal with your method and concerns rather through goal setting. Objectives are the most important part of the technique, explaining what you wish to attain. They likewise supply focus because when you have a clear target in mind, you can rededicate yourself and with confidence neglect ideas that aren’t contributing to your success.Every person or

organization needs to have a vision too, a set of dreams and substantial or adventurous long-lasting objectives that offer a strong base for the objectives you set. Your vision motivates you and provides you energy, guides you and offers all efforts a function. It links goals with your inmost inspirations and purpose. The Many Kinds of Goals Not all goals are the same,

though. Some goals concentrate on the result, while others concentrate more on performance.Outcome Goals These are the most typical kind of goals. They concentrate on accomplishing something at a specific minute, like having a look at a specific book by the end of the month. If the goal is too huge, divided it down by year, quarter, month and even week. Outcome goals tend to be harder to reach and because of that more aggravating if not attained, nevertheless they similarly provide the clearest and essential guidance.Execution Objectives Also called performance goals, these goals concentrate on the doing side, or rather the period invested dealing with your strategy. It plots out the activity to be done daily or weekly, like having a look at every day for a minimum of 5 minutes. It concentrates on the behavior and individual improvement that will get you to a specific goal. Producing a routine that lines up with the goals instead of simply trying to deal with the outcome directly enables many people to be much more successful. And the advantages to this type of objective are plentiful: It creates habits when scored regularly, making it the most convenient to stick to due to the fact that practices make hard things much easier slowly

. With this kind of objective, due to the fact that it is not binary, you are similarly potentially less prone to dissatisfaction. An 80%conclusion might still be dealt with as an accomplishment; and overachievement of the outcome, such as a 120 %, might even be commemorated. An execution objective, i.e. to choose a run every morning before work, would produce a practice once efficiently performed a few times whereas a result objective does not establish the practice; either it is accomplished, or it is not, i.e. to lose 10 pounds. How to Set Your Objectives Right Whether you choose outcome or execution, what is essential is to get down to the grit and set some goals.Step 1: Remember your vision and acknowledge all possible goals attached to it. Ideate deeply. Once again, individual goal setting is the most vital action in

planning. Compared to just collecting tasks, with objectives you are taking an action back at first by separating the desired arise from its execution.First, get clarity on what you wish to attain. Then, find the best ways to arrive. Personal goal setting is not a simple job. Take your time and select smartly. Be sure to consist of numerous aspects of both your company and life. Some example issues to get you affected during this action: What is your single vital goal this year? This quarter? This month? Additionally, what is the top thing you want to attain in the next 100 days? When examining all that worked well in the past, what could you continue doing or increase? What might you do to enhance your position substantially

in every element? What might you stop doing today that is harmful

  • to your vision and core worths, your physical or financial health, relationships and partnerships, or joy? Think actually big and push yourself. There’s a tendency
  • to make goals as” reasonable “and”possible “as possible. That need to be your beginning point, however
  • you need to stretch it way further. Press yourself out of your convenience
  • zone. Feel confident that you can and will achieve your dreams. Steve Jobs as soon as said,”Whatever around you has actually been developed by people not smarter than you.”Isn’t that encouraging? We

all accomplish what our company believe deep down inside.Start with conclusion in mind. What is your preferred outcome? Get to the root of why you wish to achieve a goal. Have you recognized one that should have resolving? Do you in fact wish to fix this? Is this something you can do, or that is a strength of yours? Once chosen, image your objective and all the actual advantages linked to reaching it. The more personal it is, the better. The more benefits you connect to each your objective, the most likely you will keep working towards it with all of your efforts.Step 2: Select your crucial goals for the upcoming duration and flesh them out. Select a few objectives that you are dedicated to, instead of keeping in mind everything you think you require to do out of responsibility. Break down any huge goal into smaller sized objectives. A lot of research study supports the concept that setting short-term goals is better than looking at the substantial image. So it is better to break goals down into smaller monthly or weekly targets, even if you have a bigger list of long-lasting goals.Be particular and clear. Be concrete. Think about particular things that you wish to carry out or accomplish, not goals too abstract to comprehend. So rather of,”Discover joy in life, “attempt,” Become a caring and caring daddy.”One approach of inspecting whether your objective is clear enough is to ask yourself: How will I comprehend when I have reached my goal? How will I determine success?Step 3: Strategy private jobs and jobs to reach this goal and the period in which they are dealt with and by whom. Focus on what requires to be done. Every little accomplishment along the technique will even more enhance your spirits. Divide your objective into little individual actions as tasks, organized by jobs or turning points. Professionals call this work breakdown structure.Once established, now comes the classical discipline of job management. You are setting yourself up for action. Planning is necessary, even if scenarios might change due to the truth that naturally, while we have actually heard,”No battle strategy endures contact with the enemy,”they also mention, “stopping working to plan is preparing to stop working”and “you can constantly change your strategy, however simply if you have one.”What are barriers or barriers you need to prepare around? Some may be obvious initially look, nevertheless others can be available in several forms: Beliefs: When you have a belief that is preventing constant development, compose it down. Regularly when you find yourself stating things like, “If only I had …”or,”If that were possible …”– those are the expressions to write down. As quickly as recorded, work to solve those restricting beliefs. Find any beneficial proof versus them plus think about how the beliefs formed in the very top place. Often the information you discover while looking into that specific belief will currently damage it. Other times, you may

have to produce an occasion that contradicts your previous experience to help eliminate that limiting belief. Facts: Concern those anticipations we count as realities. Thinking

    • from”first principles”, Elon Musk attempts to attain the most strong goals like” significantly driving down the cost of getting payload to earth orbit”with his rocket-launching and landing company SpaceX. While setting out to develop a more affordable rocket from scratch, he picks to draw his conclusions from first concepts just, tests any assumptions in reality and, continuously, changes his method through the understanding process. Routines: As individuals all of us form bad practices in life that might require reprogramming along the technique. Think about those routine, subconscious things that may be impeding your development, i.e. late night taking in when your goal is to lose
    • weight. List all beliefs, realities and habits that are stopping you from offering your 100%to the unbiased right now.Plan a timespan or due date for each task of an objective. It is best to work in reverse, with the last deadline in mind, what professionals call backwards termination. Chasing after just particular goals is difficult and dangerous. Rather, attempt to have as numerous execution goals as possible, of which you should nail close to 100 %often. For instance, one execution objective of mine that has really quickly turned into a habit is my individual early morning routine: every other day, right after increasing and before avoiding to work, I begin with checking out a book while having a coffee, then doing sports with my animal dog, and lastly dealing with one individual and one expert activity that if achieved, would make this day excellent. Another execution goal of mine is to complete at least 10 items on my todo list each week, no matter how little they might be.Having a couple of result goals
, on a yearly and quarterly basis, is still vital, though. These objectives will direct you when performing your plan. For instance, I generally have one objective I concentrate on regular monthly and additional divide it into a couple of weekly objectives with pre-planned jobs for each day. For all longer-term goals, I keep a stockpile of tasks that are organized by projects from which I can pick when there is more area to work or I am blocked elsewhere. One popular goal lots of individuals have is acquiring wealth. If you are going for that, at first specify a certain level of cash you wish to have and try to simplify. Divide your monetary goal by months then by day and after that find out what sort of task or organisation could get you to that level. If you do not have a number in mind in the start, start by counting up the quantity you need to achieve flexibility or spendings that you desire, utilizing a notepad or spreadsheet where you can track your expenses.Often, nevertheless, we choose popular but unspecific goals such as,” I wish to become a millionaire and retire.” Aside of doing not have abovementioned specifics there are two problems with that: People do not truly wish to be millionaires– they just want to experience what they think simply millions can purchase. Nonetheless, research study does expose that people get better as they make more and more money, however only up to about

$70,000 annually. After that, the very little enhancements experienced due to a higher income are usually offset by other factors such as stress, more hours, and so on. So when considering your monetary goal, consider doing all of the important things you wish to do, and not simply buying whatever you want to have. Retirement as an objective assumes that you dislike what you are doing so retirement should not be the goal. Experience actually reveals that founders of organisations who offer their service are very bored once they have in fact drunk cocktails at the beach for a variety of weeks. They then typically go on to discovered their next organisation, due to the fact that running a service is what they enjoy and serves them as a function of being. So possibly evaluate that goal of winding up being a millionaire and retiring. A reliable cash flow every day offering self-reliance may be more required for your dream than to win millions in the lotto at some time, if ever.Start Setting Your Objectives Now Be sincere with yourself. Are you where you want to be? Not yet? Then let’s make a modification, beginning today. Offer it a shot now– you will be surprised simply how much fun setting your goals can be when you start. So get a pen and a sheet of paper, sit down and dive into a major evaluation and preparation session. One structure that helps you to set objectives right is Goal & Trick Outcomes(OKR). It simply might be thestructured connection between your lasting vision and your annual, quarterly or month-to-month objectives that you are searching for.

Employee Goal Setting in 2019: The Ultimate Guide

Nowadays many organizations acknowledge the importance of motivating their employees for the sheer boost in performance and work culture. Setting clear goals is likely to drive your employees for they will remain engaged in order to reach the goals.

    1. Acts as a compass for your business

A ship requires a direction and efforts of the crew to reach the port. Similarly, a business requires a vision backed by actions to succeed. Goals are an intermediate step to perform the right actions. Having a broad plan and vision lays the foundation, breaking it into achievable goals helps build the company.

Also, setting goals makes it easier to prioritize and star mark work.

    2. Increases Motivation

Reaching our goals, makes us feel happy. However, setting our goals and falling short to reach them makes us feel equally miserable. According to Prospect theory, this feeling of “short-coming” hurts people more than the feeling of happiness experienced as a result of success. Thus, imagine you and your employees have goals set, and you fail to reach them for xyz reasons. You are more likely to be motivated to put in extra effort in order to avoid the negative feelings.

    3. Reduces Stress in the Workplace

Imagine you study all subjects in a year and are required to take exams without knowing the schedule or required marks to pass. Sounds absurd and stressful right?

Goal setting ensures that the focus of employees and managers are focused on essential tasks. It guarantees smooth transitioning between projects and weekly targets.

In fact, a balanced set of goals also improves the efficiency of employees by reducing monotony in work. All these contribute to higher productivity, better profits and automatically lesser stress.

    4. Improves Employee Engagement

A study found that employees with clear goals worked faster and more efficiently irrespective of the money factor. This is simply because goal setting keeps them motivated by adding to their feeling of achievement. It also makes them feel important when they schedule their own targets and complete it.

A no-brainer would be to combine both and keep rewards as incentives when an employee reaches a goal.

This list of benefits is not an exhaustive list, goal setting has its own advantages for your employees, team, and company as a whole if done effectively. This makes goal setting a major instrument for attaining a highly productive and driven team.

Undoubtedly goal setting will improve performance. However, like everything it comes with a flip side. Here is a list of some things which may wrong:

    1. Builds Pressure:

Giving your employees targets is the way forward. However, understanding their strengths and weaknesses before setting goals is equally important. Setting unrealistic and vague goals will create pressure, and ultimately affect your employee’s performance.

    2. Tunnel Vision:

Setting goals and meticulous planning often take away the focus from the bigger picture. Often managers are so busy setting goals, and employees are engaged in the execution of goals, that the company’s aim and vision are sidelined.

Another issue with tunnel visioning is that the effects of the goals are not taken into account. For instance, launching a new product may be the new goal, but you are so engaged in the conception that you fail to realize the customer’s preferences and needs.

    3. Takes a toll on ethics:

Usually, goals are followed by incentives and appraisals. The employees in this run, succumb to unethical practices. They try to achieve the goals by hook or by crook. This may improve profits for a short run, however, in the long run, the company image gets tampered.

    4. A sense of failure:

In a team, if an individual cannot reach a goal, he may feel disappointed and depressed. The reason for his failure may be that the goal set for him wasn’t his strength area. This feeling of failure will eventually lead to disengagement and decrease in performance.

In an organization there a million things to be done by hundreds of people. It’s very important to have a vision and direction in mind, but how do you execute? Goals are the way to do it.

But hundreds of people, and a million things and only setting goals? Sounds tedious, and reeks of mismanagement, right?

That is why it becomes necessary to classify your goals and plan your objectives accordingly.

So, what are some categories of goal setting which you can use?

Here I have curated a list of six:

    Strategic Goals

As the name suggests, the strategic goals are directly related to the mission of the company. When you have plan goals for market standing or maybe implementing a new idea, these will come under strategic goals. Also, these goals are set for the entire organization and not individual departments.

    Did you know?

You reading this article, and trying to implement goal setting in your organization itself is an example of strategic goals.

    Tactical Goals

These are the next level of goals directly related to strategic goals. They are like support systems for the strategic goals. The goals will include performance parameters for different departments and divisions.

So, if you decide to launch a new product then the break down of which department will do what will consist of your tactical goals. Tactical goals are relatively short-term compared to strategic goals.

    Operational Goals

Operations literally mean ready for use. Pertaining to this, operational goals means goals which are ready to implement. Operational goals are thus, specific to subdivisions and employees of the organization.

The setting of individual targets in accordance with a timeline will cater to the operational goal setting.

    Super-Ordinate Goals

Have you heard of the idiom “Killing two birds with one arrow”?

A super-ordinate goal is that arrow. It helps in solving two major problems faced- Team building and Conflict resolution.

Setting goals at levels may lead to a clash and eventually conflicts. Super-ordinate goals are setting goals for more than one division. In this, two or more divisions work together towards a common goal, which helps tackle feelings of animosity and tensions in the organizations.

    Subjective Goals

These are goals colored with personal preferences and biases. A company which envisions to create a difference in the environment may prioritize using recyclable material irrespective of the costs. Whereas, a company which is focused on creating the best customer satisfaction may prioritize materials which reflects the demands of their customers.

    Measurable Goals

Imagine a world where there are no numbers. A world like this will stagnant as there will be no way to measure progress and achievements. And stagnation and success are antonyms.

It is thus, essential to set specific goals which can be measured. If today I ask you what is your sales target for the month?

The answer cannot be to get a lot of customers. The answer should include statements like, “Increase customer acquisition from 10% compared to last quarter” or “Target to convert a thousand leads into customers”

Another way to classify goals would be personal goals. The manager may set individual goals. But when employees break down the task and set sub-goals for themselves it makes them more engaged and productive.

I am quite sure that you think both are mutually exclusive sets. However, this is not true.

Subjective goals are intangible and difficult to define because of individual differences. However, they are the backbone of the measurable goals. A company has to have a vision, ethics, preferences, and idea. These form the subjective goals. What ethics will be practiced? Which idea is a priority for the company? What will make the employees happy? What new product is to be launched? Etc, etc.

Once these are set in place, the measurable goals can be formulated. These are specific, and number based. Most importantly measurable goals can be compared and be used to understand the direction your company is heading into. How many vendors will you approach for sourcing materials? How many employees are needed to complete the project on time? When will you interview them? Etc, etc.

It’s clear that there are no black and white categorizations for goals. One goal which seems subjective may transform into a measurable goal as soon as the activity is benchmarked.

It’s very easy to think of an idea or goal to accomplish, and equally difficult to implement it. In order to make sure that you reach your goal, it’s important to make sub-goals, transcend your goals into action plans, get a performance indicator in place and finally, evaluate your accomplishments.

    What are sub-goals?

Each goal is an accomplishment. And let’s face the reality, it’s difficult to tick off goals. It requires a lot of time and effort. So how do you keep yourself and your team motivated? How to achieve the goals?

It’s simple. Start small. If the marathon is for five miles, set a goal to complete the first mile, then the next and so on.

Like Lao Tzu said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a small step”. Sub-goals is exactly this. It is fragmenting the mammoth tasks involved in the goal into small sub-goals.

    Why are sub-goals important?

Say you want to lose five pounds and get healthy. You set your goal to shed the extra pounds in a month. In a week, you feel demotivated you are nowhere near to your goal. What will you do?

Chances are the month will turn into years and you will still not have achieved your goal. This is because the motivation drops gradually.

Now say, in this goal of shedding the extra pounds. You make a weekly target to lose a pound a week and consequently take measurements each week. The first week you lose one, next week you lose half, then again you lose one and so on. These small changes and accomplishments will help you reach your ultimate goal.

Thus, sub goals become important to keep the drive and motivation rising and in place.

How to transcend goals into action plans?

Once you set your goals, your next step should be to hustle. Before you dive into work, it’s essential to define a plan. Because smart work is what creates the magic with Millenials today. Your action plan should be the step by step guide on how to turn your dreams into a reality.

Each action which you put in this plan should include the following elements:

    • What changes will take place because of the action?
    • Who is accountable for this action?
    • When should these activities be completed?
    • What additional help will these actions require in terms of resources?
    • Who will be affected?

With this in mind, it is also important to create action plans so that nothing and no-one is overlooked. Smartsheets is a great tool to use for making action plans.

    Why are action plans important?

In an organization, meticulous planning is of utmost priority. This is because successful businessmen understand that “People don’t plan to fail, instead they fail to plan.”

The next step is to understand if the plan was a success or a failure. The key performance indicators can be used for this purpose.

It is an indicator used to measure the success of an objective in an organization. It is used at various levels to keep track of the performance of teams and employees. It is the “key” to evaluate the performance as it focuses on specific goals.

Often companies adopt the available KPI’s without any thought. If you do this, likely you won’t be seeing any results. This is because one major function of KPI is communication. And the style of communication in your organization may be different than the industry-recognized KPI which you have adopted for your office.

The KPI’s are losing popularity. The best selling author and enterprise performance expert, Bernard Marr, wrote an interesting article about “What the heck is a…KPI?“. This article highlights that a KPI is only as valuable as you make it.

How to design a KPI for your organization?

Designing a KPI can be complicated.KPIs are often used synonymously with business metrics. It may be used on the same platform, but these need to be formulated according to specific business objectives. Here, is a list of steps that should be followed:

    • What is your end outcome?
    • Why is this outcome important?
    • In what ways can you measure this outcome?
    • Can you influence the outcome in any way?
    • Who is accountable for this outcome?
    • What defines the achievement of this outcome?
    • How often does this outcome need a review?

As an example, let’s say your objective is to decrease your attrition rate. Let’s call this KPI your Attrition Rate KPI. Here is an example of you can define it:

    • To decrease attrition rate by 10% this year
    • Achieving this will help the company be more credible and productive
    • Progress will be measured as a decrease in the number of employees leaving the company.
    • By conducting more employee engagement activities, by  improving incentives provided to the existing employees
    • The Human Resource Manager is responsible for this metric
    • Attrition must have reduced by at least 10% this year
    • The KPI will be revised every three months

Now that you know that goal setting is a major ingredient for your recipe of success, let’s see how can you set goals effectively? What steps are to be followed? How can you implement and make these goals a reality?

These seven steps will guide you to set and achieve your goals.

    1) Set an Objective

Setting an objective is equivalent to aiming at the bullseye while playing darts. It’s a way to define what you want to achieve through the goal.

For this an understanding of the company’s vision is important. For then you can align your objective, goals and action plans with the bigger picture.

A long-term vision about the future direction helps in defining objectives. Assessing the current level of where you stand and what needs to change to reach the future ideal scenario is also a great way to set objectives.

    2) Make Priority buckets for Tasks

Now that you know what your target is, it will be easier to sort and label tasks as important and not so important. You can make this into a fun team building activity. Call a meeting, have tasks written on sticky notes, make two columns on the wall and start pinning them under important and not so important. Ask each member to sort their tasks using the same wall and columns in the meeting.

So, this way you can list out the urgent tasks and also have a view of which task is directly helping in achieving the set goals.

    3) Create A Detailed Plan

You should have a basic idea of how to reach your goal. It’s useful to use mind maps and flow charts to understand the flow of actions required to accomplish your objective.

Once, the basic idea is set, you can use action plans with detailed divisions and timelines for specific actions and sub-goals. Then, it becomes important to cascade the goals from the top down to all levels.

    4) Keep provision for Feedbacks

A manager alone cannot be expected to understand the strengths of each employee and devise plans. It’s important for everyone to take part when the time comes to define goals. For this, a provision should be in a place where the employees and managers can give suggestions. And after the plan is executed, their feedback is also equally important to evaluate the efficiency of the plan.

    5) Encourage Self-Motivation

Imagine you set a list of things to do for your team, but they aren’t enthusiastic about the goal at all. Or, you may be using a lot of your time by reshuffling and reassigning goals. It may happen your goal setting is top-notch yet employees are not involved with it. To avoid this, it’s mandatory to keep your employees motivated and incentivize proactive behavior. Make yourself and your employees believe that this goal is a stepping stone to your success.

    6) Use Time Wisely

Vaguely setting goals with indefinite time will never yield results. Time is one of the primary reasons people fail to achieve their goals. The goal set has to be time-bound, and the employees need to be educated about time management. Using schedules, timelines with priority labels is a great way to go about it.

    7) Track Your Goal

After you set a goal, the next important thing is to track your progress. It’s easy to ask your employee to get more customer, but it is important for you to follow up and see the progress.

This helps your employee feel that his work is making a difference, and also, helps you tweak the goal according to needs. Sometimes it may be difficult to keep track, but this can be tackled by continuous communication between you and your team.

If you follow these seven steps, I can guarantee effective goal setting for your organization.

You just attended a board meeting with the CEO and got a glimpse of what direction your company is taking. The broad targets set need to be achieved. You need to now break these down, delegate work and get everyone on your team to work towards their targets, your targets and the company’s vision. This alignment is essential to get everyone moving in the right direction. Otherwise time, energy and resources all will be a waste. This is cascading of goals.

Simply put, it is a process of communication which is used to assign goals downwards in an organizational hierarchy. It starts with a definition of strategic performance goals by executives. It is then passed along to the next level of management who further break it down for their teams. This is continued until individual employee goals are set.

This idea has been around for generations. However, recent research has advised avoiding this technique. In experts opinion more than often cascading goals from top to bottom don’t yield results. A lot more performance management techniques are in place for ensuring better ways of working.

    Why is it not working?

    1. No Room for Freedom

The importance of individual differences cannot be stressed upon enough. The employees need the freedom to set their own goals so that they feel more driven. These days, even the medicines prescribed by doctors are questioned by Millenials. The goals cannot be prescribed, they have to be personal and meaningful for each employee.

    2. Uni-directional Model

Imagine a computer engineer setting goals for Human Resource Counselors. It’s unrealistic to expect that the top-level managers understand the demands and work of each role. This expectation leads to goal setting which is unrealistic and often unnecessary.

    3. Lack of Adaptability

Cascading has no provision for changes to take place. This is because this activity is carried out only once a year. In modern times, the goals set need to be reviewed and changed according to demands. This is a major reason why this technique needs a replacement.

    4. It’s a Complicated Business

Goal cascading is complicated, it requires strict timetable objectives to be set and often impossible goals to be set in stone. A large amount of time is required to draft these policies and the result is a frustrated workforce. Often seniors procrastinate to set their objectives, which causes a hang-up of work for all employees in the organization.

So what is to be done?

Cascade the objectives by aligning them upwards instead of downwards.

A better way of achieving goals is to make it the employee’s responsibility to set their own objectives. Before doing this ensure they have been given information and know the company’s strategic goals. CEB, the leading management research organization recommends giving employees a one-page sheet of organizational priorities. This sheet serves as a reference point that employees and managers can use to record their goals. By aligning lower level goals with higher goals, organizations can save time and effort.

This approach is gaining popularity. Firstly, it personalizes the goal for each employee and increases the sense of accountability. Secondly, it helps to create understanding in employees of the strategic objectives set for the entire organization and helps them realize how they will be making a difference. And thirdly, it is simple to use and doesn’t require a lot of time.

How can you use upward alignment?

In order to this smoothly, two things need to be in place. One, the objectives should be shared with employees in clear language. A must for this is to use easy language which everyone can understand. And two, the employees should be educated on goal setting. A simple flyer or handout can be used to pass along this information. Make sure these have examples so that the employees can align their goals with objectives easily.

In a football match you will notice there is a scoreboard and continuously a table is updated on the screen. This table compares the performance of the footballer with his previous performance and with other players. It is important as it helps the coach, the player, and the fans analyze the performance. Similarly, an organization also needs to keep score and track its goal accomplishments.

A research by American Psychological Association finds that monitoring your progress, increases the likelihood of you achieving your goals. And chances increase if you report progress publicly or physically record it somewhere.

There some great tools and methods which you can use. Here is a list of tools which help you get started and track your goals:

    1. Keep It Simple with Post-Its:

The She’s Got Systems entrepreneur Kelly Azevedo, like to keep it simple. She uses the two-square-foot post-it notes. It is used extensively to track contracts closed, income goals, social reach and web traffic. And the best part- All you need is a pen to keep track.

    2. Using Trending Apps Online:

There are apps for everything in this age, so, it comes as no surprise there are various apps to track goals. A great online app to use is Asana. In a single click, you can set targets for the entire team and track it daily. What’s more? It’s free to use. The premium upgrade is just $9.99 per month. This specific action for reaching your goal will become a habit. In other words, you will be habituated to success. You can track it daily, see weekly progress, monthly development and also assess the rolling average. The data is synced so you can see the latest stats anywhere. You can choose other apps as well, here is a list.

    3. Google Drive to track your Drive:

The ease of using google drive is well known. You can simply write your goals, and share it with your team in seconds. The broad ones can be broken down into sub-goals and edited as and when required. Knee Walker Central‘s founder Mark Krassner swears by it:

“Every year a friend and I get out of New York City and spend an entire weekend writing out our goals for the next 10 years, five years and one year in a shared folder in Google Drive. We break the one year goals down into quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily goals. Each Tuesday at 7 a.m., we hop on a call to share news of where we are at and to hold one another accountable. It’s been huge”

    4. Using online software:

If you google goal tracking software there will be plenty of fish to choose from. GroSum is a fun software to use, as it helps you visualize your goals. It helps managers to have a track of employee’s performance.

    Here is a look:

The employee can update the targets, see their progress and access any feedback they have received. While updating the targets, they can put in comments, which will help them to justify or explain their experience while working towards the goal. You can try it for free.

Another great software to try is Joe’s Goals. The single page interface makes it user-friendly, and it’s a great way to track progress and reach ambitious goals.

    5. Use A Whiteboard:

Using a whiteboard is great for brainstorming, and for making flow charts. It is a simple technique but it is very effective. Chris Brisson, the founder of Call Loop tried all online tools and then going back to whiteboards and pad of paper. It worked pretty well for the company as they grew over 200 percent over a year.

Achieving goals is beneficial for both employees and managers. Once a goal is achieved, the decision of what is to be done next becomes clearer. And the time wasted on understanding tactics is saved.

However, very often goals fail. Who do you hold responsible? Yourself? The team? Situation?

Well, in reality, nobody is responsible for your goal setting is underlying with these mistakes:

    1. You Set Goals at Wrong Times:

It may happen that the first quarter reports make you unhappy, and you think of goal setting as the way forward. However, this may not yield the best results. Definitely, it will lead to improvements but not at the optimum level. So when is a good time to set goals?

It’s best to set goals at the beginning of the annual year and update goals every 3 months. The new year brings in fresh energy, and steering the company’s growth becomes easier. It’s also a great time experiment and see what works and doesn’t work for your company.

However, this does not mean that you set the goals in first of week of January and revisit them next year. Staying current is very important and regular evaluations are needed for it to be a blockbuster hit.

    2. Your Goals are Not Transparent:

It is often misunderstood that goals should be a private contract within the teams and departments. And no one from outside the circle should know the goals set. This creates an unnecessary culture of competition and sidelines the company’s objectives. It is important thus, that you adopt a software which promotes transparency all over.

    3. Goals Set are Vague:

I have already stressed the importance of having specific goals. Often managers set random goals for employees without much thought. Another gap which occurs is that the instructions are not clear.

Say you ask an employee to order new stationery for your office. You fail to mention the specifics of date and requirements. This goal then remains unattained on the track record as the employee doesn’t know what to do.

So, by specific goals I mean goals which are clear and can be attained by taking prompt action.

    4. Goals Set are not Challenging:

Imagine playing the video game Mario and replaying the same levels again and again? It may be fun to play and defeat the dragon once, however, if the difficulty level is not raised chances are you won’t be playing again.

Your employees feel the same way. Setting goals which are too easy will lead to disengagement. A goal should encompass the growth factor of the employee as well as that of the company.

This doesn’t mean that you set a goal which is unattainable. It simply means that goals need to be motivating and engaging for your workforce.

    5. Old Goals:

Consider living in a world where there is no innovation. Had that been the case you would not even be reading this guide. It’s important to keep goals fresh and updated.

In the digital world where information is so readily available, it’s time to use it for keeping your goals current. Tracking the new demands, trends can help your company become the “in” thing. You may come across an easy solution for your problems or maybe an innovate way to set goals and improve performance.

Thus, revising goals has to become a priority in your schedule to understand the kinks and bonuses of an activity.

“Practice makes perfect”- Initially it will be difficult to gauge these mistakes. However, continuously working with your team will help you draw insights on their strengths and weaknesses. You will also find flaws in the setting of goals yourself if you continue this practice. And as humans, it is obvious you’ll be making mistakes. But be smart and learn from your mistakes.

Goal Setting is a much talked about topic, especially in startups. How you set goals is directly related to how you run your business. It’s easy to follow the principles and write your own goals and keep track. But, it will result in chaos if you try to do the same for a team of more employees. You might then need an employee to just monitor and write goals!

So what do you do? How do you manage effective practices and results for all?

It’s simple, choose a framework of goal setting according to your needs.

Here is a list of commonly used frameworks, take your pick:

    Objectives And Key Results

Commonly referred to as OKRs, was developed by Andy Grove at Intel. The organizational objectives are clearly set and then communicated clearly to all levels of the company. This enables employees to align their team goals and individual goals with the company’s broader goals. The employees in this framework, are encouraged to set their own objectives and take charge of the results. This increases accountability in the workforce. Also, it improves the sense of belonging to the company as the managers and teams sit together to ideate how to achieve the company’s objectives. This framework also provides flexibility, as you can set objectives according to specific project or time, depending on the need. Did you know this framework is used by google?

    Management by Objectives

Management by Objectives is an approach used to define goals and reaching these goals by using existing resources. The ultimate aim is to improve the performance of the organization by aligning the goals of individuals with the company within a specified time frame. A major advantage of this approach is that it allows continuous monitoring and feedback for improving the outcome.

It encourages participation by all managers in the goal-setting process and implementation of the performance systems. This enables better strategic planning and in turn, allows the organization to realize its objectives. This pre-specified time framework allows creating benchmarks for performances at any point of time. It was first extensively used by General Electric(GE) and is now used by many including DuPont, Xerox, and HP.

    Peter Drucker: Management by Objectives

    SMART Goals

An effective goal setting guide cannot be complete without the knowledge of SMART goals. Setting SMART goals is the shortcut to success as it helps with clarity, increased effort, time management and productivity standards.

Did you know this concept has been around since 1980’s? It was made popular by Robert S. Rubin in his article for The Society for Industrial Professor.

It’s simply an acronym which encompasses all essential features of goal setting.

For your goals to be attainable, they have to be SMART:

    • Specific
    • Measurable
    • Achievable
    • Relevant
    • Time-bound

However, it is now expanded to be SMARTER, as it includes Evaluated and Reviewed as focus areas.

    How to Create SMART goals?

Conceptualising broad goals are easy and doesn’t take much time. However, converting these broad visions into SMART visions is the challenge. Writing these goals correctly will help you stay on track and lessen the burden.

    Make It Specific:

Your goal should be crystal clear for anyone who reads it. The aim is to create focus and motivation. When drafting a goal, make sure it answers the questions What, Why, By whom, and How.

A specific goal for a marketing manager could be: “I want to gain the expertise of digital marketing so that I can spearhead the team for the next project, this way I can grow and also fulfill the requirements of the company”

    Make It Measurable:

The importance of data in an organization and its influence on performance is not unknown. The goals should be written in a way that they can be measured. Transparency of these numbers helps in improving performance. The progress won’t be progress if you can’t measure it.

The goal set by the marketing manager can be made measurable. “I will complete the digital marketing course in the next six months and improve the returns of the new project by 30% as outsourcing of work will be decreased”

    Make It Achievable:

The goals set has to be attainable. Setting a novice mountain climber to climb Mt. Everest can only end up in a failure and worse if feelings of self-doubt come in.

When setting a goal, the previous performance and level need to be considered. The “how” of the goal becomes very important. The situational factors affecting the accomplishments also needs to be factored in.

Our marketing manager needs to ask himself if he has the aptitude for digital marketing? How much money will the course require? Does he have the time to invest in this course?

This step is to ensure that the goal is meaningful to you and aligns with the broader objectives. It may be important for you to eat healthily and that may be a goal, but this has little to do with the organization.

The goal should be inclusive, it should be a goal which drives everyone forward. This doesn’t mean that’s its a team goal, but it means that your goals help the team inch forward to their goals.

Our marketing manager needs to think if he is best suited for the profile if his new skill will help the company and most importantly if it is causing any inconvenience to others.

Write the goal with an expiry date. It’s simple, if you have all the time in the world to achieve something, chances are you will never achieve it. Hence, a target date for completion of any task has to be set.

The “when” is of the essence as it drives actions in people.

Our marketing manager needs to put a timeline in perspective before taking the course. Ensure none of his other duties are taking a back seat. And also create a balance for completing his course in six months.

The easiest way to write SMART goals is to use a questionnaire.  It helps to focus and the limited space makes you think hard.

The Millenial are approaching the front lines of the workforce and for them, it is very important to work towards a higher aim and objective. Goal setting is thus, gaining popularity. It helps improve performance and lends vision to the workforce. The focus of 2018 is going to concentrate on the following ideas:

Personal development is a major concern for generation Y. They cannot put up with stagnation. This is why goal setting in organizations should cater to the development of their employees. These goals may vary from learning better management skills to a workshop on how to use social media extensively. It may also include improving soft skills of the employees by giving them opportunities to groom themselves and become more eloquent.

How To Get The Best Results From Your Hypnosis Program:

The above programs are all great and super easy to use but apply your hypnosis program in accordance with the below practices in order to achieve the best possible results…

1.) Choose A Hypnotherapist You Gel With:

There’s nothing worse than listening to a hypnotherapist whose voice you don’t like…

Or whose approach doesn’t resonate with you.

Take this into consideration when choosing the right program for you.

If you don’t feel comfortable with who you are listening to then the subconscious mind may resist the messages being offered.

Where possible, preview the hypnotherapist’s voice before you purchase.

It should put you a comfortable and relaxed state almost immediately.

2.) Apply Hypnosis In Moments Of Peace And Quiet:

If you’re a busy person don’t try to squeeze a session into your schedule throughout the day.

Instead, find a time in the evening when you feel relaxed and clear-minded.

It’s important that you can wind down in order to open up on a subconscious level.

It is also advised not to listen to hypnosis while driving or operating heavy machinery.

    3.) Be Consistent:

Depending on how deep-seated the subconscious thought patterns are, it can take some time to see results.

Your subconscious mind works like a muscle, it takes time, discipline, and work for it to grow and rewire toward positive, hypnotic suggestion.

Luckily for you, the hard work is done for you, all you need to do is listen to the tracks on a consistent basis.

Try listening to them for at least 30 minutes per day for 1-3 months, always be open to change but don’t always expect results right away, it can take time!

The more consistent you are the faster you will see results.

4.) Always Get Your Hypnosis Tracks From A Reputable Source:

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people online creating and uploading their own hypnosis tracks without the proper training that is required.

Make sure to double-check the companies ‘about us’ page and do some thorough research on the hypnotherapist you are using.

The programs I’ve suggested above all contain qualified therapists, but if you were to get something else, make sure to do your research first!

    5.) Don’t multitask:

Hypnosis is something you really need to commit to.

It’s recommended to take 30-60 minutes to listen solely to the positive suggestion tracks.

If you fall asleep, that’s fine but engaging in tasks or activities like exercise, watching T.V. doing chores etc will ultimately distract your mind from reaching a hypnotic state.

    6.) Wear headphones:

Depending on which hypnosis track you’ve chosen, you may want to compliment the audios by wearing headphones.

Some hypnosis programs come with additional soundwave frequencies (e.g. binaural beats) and these kinds of tracks work best when you use headphones.

This is because the hypnotherapist has created different sounds for each ear in order to stimulate a particular brain frequency pattern.

If you are unsure, double-check the instructions of your program or contact the company directly.

    Conclusion:

    Well, there you have it!

The best and most popular hypnosis programs online today!

I have no doubts that you will find the right hypnosis program for you somewhere within the list (if you haven’t already).

So all that’s left now is to get excited!

Finding the hypnosis tracks that are right for you is the first big step when it comes to reprogramming your mind and transforming your life!

I know for me the changes in my mindset as well as my physical reality have been huge after using many of these tracks.

Remember, consistency and an open mind is key to getting the results you want!
